Thrilled to receive the announcement that The Hiding Girl (Emily Calby Book 1) placed second overall in the 
2021 IndieReader Discovery Awards in Fiction.

Not an ordinary coming-of-age tale, THE HIDING GIRL (book 1 in the Emily Calby series) binds together diverse characters learning to trust again after undergoing past tragedies. Author Dorian Box wonderfully weaves together realistic dialogue with detailed descriptions that will leave readers emotional during the grim horrors and rooting for the bright moments throughout the story.
The Hiding Girl has received six book honors, but this one is extra-rewarding for placing second overall in “Fiction” — rather than in a sub-genre like suspense/thriller.
I pitch The Hiding Girl as a thriller, and it is, but there’s more to it. It’s a dark and gritty coming-of-age story that tackles themes not found in most genre fiction. Thanks to IndieReader for recognizing those aspects. Here’s their interview with me.
